I rarely paint and oil, even though I absolutely love the process. however, I think it is because I'm impatient and oil takes so much longer than water color. This painting started as a 7 x 9 watercolor which sold at my Mother's Day gift show. After it had sold, I had sellers remorse. A couple of months later I painted the same idea here, on canvas in oil. The process was so exciting. I did a crazy underpainting to enhance the depth. It was exciting for me to see the waves of the flag come into play. But I will tell you it was quite labor-intensive and as well as time intensive. S
